• La voix passive place un évènement, un fait en sujet. L'objet sur lequel porte l'action est mis en avant. Le complément d'agent est facultatif ; lorsqu'il est mentionné, il est introduit par by.

• Le passif s'emploie aussi lorsqu'on utilise on en français.
  Exemple : English is spoken in Australia. On parle anglais en Australie. / L'anglais est parlé en Australie

sujet (objet, évèvement sur lequel porte l'action) + be (conjugué) + participe passé + complément d'agent (facultatif)
