English: Black and white photograph of Ferndale, California taken shortly after the April 18, 1906 earthquake which devastated San Francisco and many other communities in Northern California. All the lower story windows are broken. Note the bending of the soft-story at 393 Main Street (with law office sign), the adjacent 383-389 Main Street and the bricks in the street from the "White Front Store" with the large sign at left of image. The White Front store was demolished due to damages from this earthquake. At this time, these two buildings on the west side of Main Street were nearly twins. Notice also the child with baby buggy walking down the street and minstral show poster in the window at far right.
