Original caption:
"200/300 Block of Hastings Street - 1906/2009

A great picture from the beginning of last century, it shows people on the street, a streetcar, and this block of buildings as they were originally intended to look. Most of the buildings on this block are still there, except for the building closest to the camera, but some have been severely modified. There is a building missing further down the block that was destroyed by fire a number of years ago and is a parking lot now. As well, this picture pre-dates the Dominion Building, which was completed just a few years after the photo was taken.

In the far distance,the Flack Block is visible in both photos."
