About me

I am Serhii from Kharkiv, Ukraine. I have academic background in history and a professional background in the education and cultural sectors. I have edited Wikimedia projects since 2009, and I have been an active Wikimedian since 2011. I contribute mostly to Ukrainian Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata

My work

  • Volunteer coordinator in Kharkiv region (since 2017)
  • Wikimedia Ukraine Board member (2011―2012)
  • Wikimedia Ukraine Audit Committee member (2013―2014, 2016-2018)
  • Creator and co-organizer of WikiKharkivshchyna contest (since 2018)
  • Wikiworkshops instructor since 2011
  • Member of organizing committees of Wikimarathon in Ukraine (since 2017) and Wiki Science Competition in Ukraine (since 2019)

    My main interests are teaching how to use and contribute to Wikipedia and other wikiprojects, promoting Wikipedia for GLAMers and education institutions, community development in Kharkiv region.

My main projects and activities:

  • WikiKharkivshchyna contest is an article and photo contest for public libraries from Kharkiv region and their patrons (since 2018). The contest is held in partnership with the Kharkiv regional universal scientific library
  • Wikimarathon events in Kharkiv region (as part of Wikimedia Ukraine's project)
  • Author of the first printed guide how to edit Wikipedia in Ukrainian (2012)
  • I like to travel in Kharkiv and nearby regions and always take a photos for Wikimedia Commons and promote this on my pages in social networks
